Personally I had to use the trial and error approach. Due to different races and ethnicities we all have different types of skin, therefore different products work better for different people. I can recommend though which companies I feel have the best products.
Neutrogena has great cleansers, you can feel how fresh and revitalized your skin is afterwards. I use their oil free acne wash that does wonders for my skin. I also use bump patrol which is an after shave but I think works as a great astringent, just remember to use cotton balls so as to not damage your hands.
If you are also looking for acne treatment, I can tell you proactiv did nothing for me. Me and my brother used it for over a year and saw little to no results. Clean and Clear has a new acne fighting system that I heard works well, and their website gives you a $5 off coupon. The also have other good acne fighting creams.
Best results I found was an apricot scrub, with an astringent from clean and clear, and a clearasil cream, it actually made my skin peel and the top dead layer came right off. For some reason it only worked once and I was not able to properly replicate the same results. We probably have different skin types so again I have to say try and see whats best for you.

how about olay or dove? i'm usingolay as i heard tht it was a good brand and all.
Oil of Olay is very good. I use it as a night cream. I am trying to find something for day use with SPF. Perhaps I can try oil of olay day time too.
i haven't tried oil of olay don think i've seen it. right now i'm using the fresh cleanser and moisturizing cream i use them twice a day. morning and night. hasn't been long since i used so not sure of results yet. it does make me fresh everytime i use them though.
I had used one cream from olay before, it didn't make any difference on my acne but it made my skin look very shiny. My experience is more with acne medications, but I will post some links to help.
thks lots for your help. acne huh. well my face is clearin more right now but i too have acne. it's prone to oily skin. which i have done a hub on anyway. but i haven't mentioned products for acne and all. thks for your help again.
Me and my borther both have oily skin so we have a bit of experience. The best products I can recommend are from the dermatologist himself, those are the best results I have had.
Hey everyone – Its so important to choose chemical free and organic skin care. If you wont put chemicals in your food – why would you put them directly into your blood stream (through your skin)?
I have been only using organic and chemical free skin products for a while now – and I even think their quality is so much better than the commercial stuff you find in CVS. Honestly – I think all those brands that are not chemical free harmed my skin all these years…since I switched to organic, I see a healthier face and fewer wrinkles around my eyes. Plus im always hydrated.
I think the best organic face cream I have tried is the 3 Berry Face Serum, from the Made from Earth. The are a small skin care company that only has chemical free products and high concentrations of organic ingredients. I found them in a Whole Foods Store and tried out a bottle and I love it.
Its thick enough to moisturize deeply, but my skin really just absorbs all of it once applied, so it doesn’t have that heavy feeling. There website is www.madefromearth.com. Definitely recommend it…the website says it contains real blueberries, raspberries and cranberries – I guess that makes the “3” in three berry serum….my skin looks super fresh after 1 month of using it. .
I tried many types of moisturizers (including oil-free type) but my face is somewhat oily, and they make me break out. I kept looking because my forehead and the sides of my face get dry (especially during winter), and I absolutely have to use a moisturizer.
I was pretty happy when I found the Made from Earth Rosehip & Hibiscus Face Serum and I have continued to use it for at least two years now. It really works, and I love it! I do not break out from using it, plus it is a perfect moisturizer. The best thing about its also is that it is chemical free and organic...plus it firms the skin also!
I guess it was all the chemicals in skin care products that was making me break out all these years. The sides of my face no longer itch during the winter, and the chemical free with anti-wrinkle formula is ideal for me, because I turned 49 this year! I'm a huge products-user and normally use Mac (cosmetics) and Chanel. I'm very picky and particular about what I use on my face. It has to be outstanding, or I just won't use it. I have tubs of unused cosmetics and creams all which I have not liked for one reason or another.
I received this "Made from Earth" VITAMIN ENHANCED MOISTURIZER as a gift. I was expecting another product that I would be adding to my 'don't like' pile. Boy was I wrong! From the second I opened the jar with the beautiful lid -- it made that wonderful 'swisshhhing' sound when it opened.
When I put the cream on my face I was expecting it to be greasy and it wasn't at all! There is an amazing skin-tightening and smoothing effect this cream has.
